How Much Does a Paradise Valley Trip from Agadir Cost?

What Paradise Valley actually costs

The number first: our private Paradise Valley day trip

is €38 per person when two of you travel, €27 at four, and €22 at six.

Solo it is €75, because one person carries the entire vehicle and driver-guide cost

instead of splitting it with anyone.

That is the whole price. There is no park fee, no entry ticket and no compulsory guide

charge on top, because Paradise Valley is a river gorge rather than a managed site.

Why the per-person price falls so steeply

Almost all of what you are paying for is fixed: a vehicle, a driver-guide and the fuel for

a 70 km round trip. Those cost the same whether one person or six are sitting in the car.

So the per-person figure is really the fixed cost divided by the number of people.

This is worth understanding before you compare quotes. An operator advertising "from

€22" is quoting the six-person rate, and an operator advertising €75 may be quoting

the solo rate for the identical trip. The honest comparison is at your actual group size.

Doing it yourself

You do not need a tour to see Paradise Valley, and we would rather say so than pretend

otherwise.

• Grand taxi: roughly 400-700 MAD return for the vehicle, negotiated at the rank,

with the driver waiting. For four or more people this usually undercuts a tour.

• Hire car: the road is paved and ordinary as far as the main car park. Parking is

informal and someone will ask for a few dirhams to watch the car.

• Local bus: there is no useful direct service. Do not plan around it.

What a tour buys you is knowing where the water is. The valley's pools change through the

season - the well-known one near the car park can be crowded and low in September while

better water sits twenty minutes upstream. A driver who was there last week knows; a map

does not.

What the day includes

Our price covers return transport from your hotel in Agadir or Taghazout, the driver-guide,

and the run up towards Immouzer when the falls are worth seeing. Lunch is not included -

you eat at one of the riverside terraces, typically 60-100 MAD for a tagine and a drink,

and you pay for it yourself rather than having it built into a package at a markup.

Swimming is free and the pools are public. Bring shoes you can walk wet rock in; the

polished limestone at the edge of the pools is genuinely slippery.

Is it worth paying for?

If there are four or more of you and you are comfortable negotiating a taxi, do that and

save the difference. If there are two of you, the tour is close enough in price that the

guide is effectively free. If you want the Immouzer waterfalls in the same day, take the

tour - that leg is a further 40 km of mountain road and taxi drivers charge properly for it.
