Marrakech is the culinary capital of Morocco, and this half-day walk is built around that fact. Start in Rahba Kedima, the spice square, learning to tell real saffron from dyed imitations and the dozen-plus spices that go into ras el hanout. Move through the food souks tasting olives, dates, msemen, and fresh-pressed orange juice from the Jemaa el-Fnaa stalls. Finish at a local family kitchen for a hands-on tagine and Moroccan mint tea lesson — you eat what you cook.
Meet at Rahba Kedima spice square at 9:30 am. Guided walk through the spice and food souks with tastings (90 minutes). Continue to a local family kitchen for a hands-on tagine cooking class. Sit down to the tagine you cooked, finished with mint tea. Finish by 1:30 pm.
