Is M'Goun harder than Toubkal?
Over a week, yes. We rate this expert against challenging for the Toubkal routes — not because any single day is technical, but because it is seven consecutive days in remote country with fewer places to stop or turn back. Sustained effort rather than a single hard day.
How remote is this trek?
Genuinely remote. The route crosses high country and gorges, passing villages where trekking groups are still uncommon. That is the appeal, and it is also why the route needs a guide who knows the water sources and the weather patterns.
What experience do I need for the M'Goun traverse?
Previous multi-day trekking. This is not a first big walk: you should already know how your body handles consecutive days on rough ground and how you respond to altitude. If you have done Toubkal comfortably, you have a reasonable basis for this.
