Overview

The Toubkal Circuit is the complete High Atlas traverse — a full ring around the massif that few trekkers ever complete. Over six days you cross four major passes, walk through the remote grazing lands and villages of the Toubkal National Park, camp beside the extraordinary turquoise Lake Ifni, and finish by summiting Jbel Toubkal itself. Far more varied and remote than the standard summit push, it is the connoisseur's Toubkal.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Transfer from Marrakech to Imlil (1h30). Trek through the Imenane Valley past terraced fields and Berber villages to Tachedirt. Around 5 hours walking.

Frequently asked questions

How hard is the Ifni Lake circuit?
It is graded challenging — six days in the high Toubkal massif including the summit and the remote Lake Ifni side, with several consecutive days on rough ground at altitude. Fitness and some prior trekking help.
Where do we sleep over the six days?
A mix of mountain refuges, village gîtes, and camping, all with meals included during the trek. A sleeping bag is not provided.
Do I carry my own gear?
No — mules and muleteers carry the group gear and camp, so you walk with a daypack. Personal trekking equipment and a sleeping bag are your own.
What is required but not included?
Travel insurance is mandatory and not included, along with personal trekking equipment and tips for the guide, cook, and muleteers.
