Both of those things are true at once, and the reason is worth understanding before
you compare it against a short trip.
Where the money goes
The traverse crosses from the Aït Bougmez valley over M'Goun (4,068 m),
through Magdaz, across remote plateaus and gorges, to a Toubkal (4,167 m)
summit. Fourteen nights in village gîtes, mountain refuges and camps.

Why the per-day rate falls
A trek has costs that do not scale with length. The vehicle to the trailhead, the
guide's mobilisation, the assembly of a mule team, the return transfer from a
different valley — these are roughly the same for three days as for fifteen.
On the 3-day village trek at €235, those
fixed items are a large share of the price. Spread across fifteen days they almost
